About the Founder

Laura Tang is the Founder of Formality Real Estate. also known as FRE. Laura and her family landed in San Francisco in 1980, seeking their new "home," freedom, opportunities, hoping for a better tomorrow. Laura lived in Sacramento for the first 20 years in the US. After that, she moved to the Bay Area, where she started her Real Estate career and investments, and then expanded her team to Hawaii, the paradise.  

Laura founded FRE (Formality Real Estate) with the vision of creating a brokerage with a fresh culture that embraces diversity, collaboration, and teamwork. Today, the company's success reflects these values. Laura and her FRE team are committed to give back and help others achieve the American Dreams.  

Laura specializes in real estate sales, leasing, property management, and advisory services. She brings invaluable operational experience, having launched and managed real estate agents from the start-up to the profitability phase. FRE has built a reputation for superior market knowledge and exceptional client service through customized investment planning and operational solutions since 2002. FRE not only serves the local communities, the team also provides real estate investment advisory and transaction services to an emerging national client base servicing investors with its residential, multi-family specialists, and commercial, offering decades of deal-making expertise. FRE serves both California and Hawaii.

Laura's passion is serving and giving back to the communities. Her passion is coming from her life experience as an immigrant. Her team acquired and donated over 20,000 masks, PPE, and donuts to Eastbay's hospitals when the nurses were given only one mask per day. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Laura and her team worked with the police, fire department, and the Oakland mayor's office, bringing food in support to show appreciation to the frontline workers.
